Dr. Rina de Klerk-Weyers
Module: Emotional Intelligence
The school is fortunate to have one of South Africa’s most knowledgeable experts on emotional intelligence on board. Dr. Rina de Klerk-Weyers is generally regarded as one of South Africa’s foremost experts on emotional intelligence. She has researched emotional intelligence exhaustively, both locally and abroad, and have years of experience in training and coaching companies, schools and individuals. Rina has written several books and her work has been the focus of numerous magazine and newspaper articles. She is frequently interviewed on radio and television.

Minette Luus
Module: Style and Wardrobe
Minette Luus is a highly motivated, dynamic entrepreneur, who has in a short time, made her mark in the image industry. She founded the highly successful S.A. Image Academy in 2008. Minettte presents workshops across the country and frequently appears on OFM’s Breakfast Show. Minnette aims to build confidence in her clients, using a motivational approach when presenting style and image workshops. Her clients have included Tatum Keshwar (Miss S.A. 2009), Vicky Fourie (Miss Deaf S.A). She is professionally associated with the Professional Image Association of Africa, the Association of Professional Image Consultants of S.A. and the Association of Image Consultant International.

Danie Blignaut
Module: Lifestyle and Balance
Being the epitome of glowing heath himself, Danie Blignaut (MBW, Hons.) is a biokineticist who understands the principle of balance as the key to a healthy lifestyle. He is the founder of the Gym-4-Life Centre in Potchefstroom and is the co-ordinator of Equilibria’s Health and Fitness Programme – a programme that aims to help each student to cultivate an active and healthy lifestyle. Through frequent individual consultations and fitness tests, his team monitors and inspires Equilibria’s students to maintain their ideal body weight and exercise regularly. He believes that well-being and abundant health depends on a holistic approach that incorporates healthy eating habits, exercise, nutritional supplements and a balanced way of life.

Janet Visée
Module: Herbs and Well-being
Janet Visée (Dip Pharm, B.Compt, RT.Cert.of RASA, Int.Cert. of London, Dip. Aromatherapy) is the highly motivated principal of the Morula Herbal Centre in Midrand, Johannesburg. With a background of Pharmacy, Janet has extended her knowledge into natural health and healing. In addition to her impressive academic qualifications, this dynamic lady keeps abreast of new research and development in the field of aromatic chemistry, pharmacy and herbalism by attending and presenting various workshops, courses and seminars. Janet believes in the preventative properties of herbs as well as their tonic actions increasing the vitality and energy of our bodies. Zelda Coetzee
Module: Character building
Zelda Coetzee is the vibrant founder and visionary behind TICS (Teenagers in Christ) which is a high-energy, high-impact ministry to teenagers countrywide. Zelda has worked with young people for more than 20 years and firmly believes that good character is the basis for success and happiness in life. Fuelled by her passion and emphatic understanding of young people, her Character Building course at Equilibria is a life-changing experience. The Shido team: Arno Pienaar and Cobus Fourie
Module: Safety and Self-defence
Equilibria’s Safety and Self-defence course is presented by Arno Pienaar and Cobus Fourie from the Shido Self-defence Training Centre in Centurion, Johannesburg. After years of research Shido’s developers established a self-defence system that is simple enough to teach students in days instead of years; is effective regardless of the body type of the student or attacker and are applicable to real life situations. Their system is based on an actual fighting system used by the Eastern military on the battlefield and was designed to end a fight quickly with minimum effort and maximum results. Both instructors have gained extensive experience while giving self-defence training for the past 10 years. Junel Vermeulen
Module: Wine appreciation
The school is fortunate to have one of South Africa’s most celebrated and knowledgeable wine experts on board to teach students an appreciation for wine. Junel Vermeulen is a national and internally renowned professional Cape Wine Master and a Senior Lecturer at the Cape Wine Academy who travels extensively in South Africa and abroad to conduct presentations on wine. Junel’s passion for wine is contagious. Her superior understanding of wine and energetic presentation style makes her highly in demand for motivational talks and short courses in wine appreciation, wine tasting and food and wine pairing. Her delightful sense of humour and fun-filled teaching methods make the wine course at Equilibria a highlight of the study programme. |
ER24 Emergency Medical Care
Module: First Aid
ER24 EMS is a highly effective emergency medical care service that operates nationwide in South Africa. Using a wide variety of interactive and practical teaching methods, Equilibria’s First Aid course is taught by a team of instructors from ER24’s Training Academy. After successful completion of the course, students receive a nationally accredited Level 1 First Aid Certificate. Colene Hind
Module: Positive Thinking
Colene is the founding member of Green Screen, an organisation that is dedicated to the development, understanding and implementation of whole brain thinking, positive thinking and innovation in corporate organizations, schools and individuals. She is a B.Com Marketing graduate, in the final phase of completing an MPhil degree in Entrepreneurship and a qualified Whole Brain Practitioner. She also has a Certificate in Neuro Linguistic Programming from the University of Greenwich in London. Colene believes in the potential of each individual and lives to inspire people of all ages to discover their unique potential and passion. Wesley Wallace
Module: Photography
Wesley Wallace is the founder of Klik Photography, a professional photographic studio based in Potchefstroom. His studio specialises in an array of photographic services including portfolios, family shoots, commercial, industrial, events, weddings and photography courses and safaris. With years of experience within the photographic industry, this dedicated lecturer believes it is important that students develop a sound understanding of the technical and creative aspects of photography to master this fine art. Elisma van der Smit (BA, BA (Honns), MA Clinical Psychology, MPhil PPL) is a clinical psychologist with a passion for making people grow and glow! She is currently in a busy and successful private practice and functions regularly as a facilitator who presents seminars and workshops on personal development. Louise Buys
Module: Relationship skills
Louise Buys (BSC Hons, MSc) is a full-time pastor at His People’s Church in Potchefstroom. She has a passion for people and believes healthy relationships provide the key to happiness in life. Louise has made a special effort to study the elements that constitute joyful and contented relationships and often hosts workshops to convey these skills to others. Her sensitive, yet inspirational teaching style has a lasting impact on her students. |
Dr. Litha Beekman
Career Guidance and Self-knowledge
Dr. Litha Beekman (MA, DPhil, PhD) is a registered Educational Psychologist who specializes in career guidance and life design. Dr. Beekman has over 20 years of experience in vocational guidance and is well-known in South Africa for her practical, step-by-step Self-knowledge Workbooks and Career Handbooks. Dr. Beekman’s exceptional knowledge of the career landscape in South Africa coupled with her helpful and understanding counselling style makes her one of our countries’s most sought after career guidance facilitators. |
Jacky van der Merwe
Financial skills
Jacky van der Merwe (BCom Risk Management, Hons BCom & MCom Economics) has lectured introductory and development economics at the NWU since 2007 and facilitated students in Economics since 2005. Her passion lies in educating young people and she is very involved with her students. She has also been campus convenor for the Old Mutual Nedbank Budget Speech competition and accompanied student finalists to the annual Budget Speech. She believes in demystifying Economics by using everyday examples, such as dog ownership and dating, to illustrate concepts. |
Prof. Elmarie van der Schyff
Basic Legal Skills
Prof Elmarie van der Schyff (B.A. Law, LLB, LLM, LLD) is a professor in Law at the North-West University. She is also admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. Prof van der Schyff enjoys using a practical and hands-on approach to teach young people the basics of South African law. She feels that it is important that they must have a general knowledge of the legal rules that will affect their everyday lives. |
Dr. Hanri de la Harpe
Health and Nutrition
As the principle of Equilibria School of Life, Dr Hanri de la Harpe (BA FA, Ma, PhD) has a passion for helping young people to develop lifestyle habits that will ensure their life-long well-being. In her capacity as lecturer at the North-West University she became aware of how bad eating habits affect young people’s health and happiness. Being a mother of four, she has extensively studied the subject of nutrition and eating habits. She loves to teach her students how to eat for abundant energy, feel radiant and maintain a healthy body weight. |
