Career guidance: aims and process
Equilibria is proud to boast one of the most in-depth and comprehensive career guidance programmes in South Africa. The programme is facilitated over many months, allowing the decision-making process to unfold slowly and carefully. The slower the process, the more information and self-knowledge can be gathered to assist the student in making a correct career decision.
Career decisions should ideally not be made while being under pressure, such as writing matriculation exams. One of the great advantages of a gap year is having the luxury to take one’s time and to make absolutely sure about a career decision. Equilibria’s programme provides sufficient time for a young person to mature and to gain ample self-knowledge, life experience and understanding of the world to facilitate a correct career decision.
Career guidance takes place throughout the year in different stages with formal classes, computerised programmes, field work projects and individual guidance.
